Form and Fiber : Contract Outdoor Accessories
I. JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Production, this position performs specialized labor activities related to metal projects with direct support for metal fab teams with metal cutting and forming needs. The scope of work includes managing metal parts to be plasma cut, organization and tracking of parts, metal forming, including brake and rolling work, as well as assisting with material inventory and preparation for daily fabrication activities with other duties to be performed as assigned. Additionally, this job will require you to wear casual work wear with solid, good sole shoes with support.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operation of 175 Ton Cincinnati Brake Press, include use of single and 4-way dies.
• Operation of CNC Plasma machine.
• Operation of metal roller for cone and cylinder rolling of metal.
• Assist with basic metal part preparation as assigned to support metal projects in-process.
• Assist with cutting metal parts using equipment like a chop saw and drill press.
• Always use protective eyewear, gloves, facemasks, and/or ear plugs as properly trained and instructed when engaging in metal work tasks.
• Assist in shop area clean-up, including putting away of equipment and tools, sweeping, or other end of day duties to be performed as assigned.
• Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties and responsibilities of this position at any time.
III. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have good English written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, with willingness to learn.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.
• Able to drive or operate equipment such as a forklift preferred, but not required.
IV. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
• Experience with AutoCAD software.
• Will need to learn how AutoCAD interfaces with new CNC Plasma machine with a willingness to participate in company training.
• Able to read and interpret layout drawings, technical specifications, and shop drawings.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.
V. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to regularly lift from 10 lbs up to 50 lbs.
• Will be regularly required to stand, walk, and sit or kneel for extended periods of time.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
VI. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This full-time position is located on-site with current production activities, located in Mabank, TX. However, there may be additional training off-site.
VII. PAY & HOURS
• Starting pay depending on experience. Overtime will be paid for hours worked per week, over 40 hours.
• The position is deemed full-time with a probationary period prior to qualifying for benefits, paid holidays or vacation days. Any time taken off of work during the probationary period is unpaid time.
• Performance evaluations will be performed after first 6 months of full-time work, then annually.
• Hours are 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday, working either 7am-3:30pm or 8am-4:30pm.
I. JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Director of Design, the CAD Technician performs a variety of design/drafting activities including preparing/updating shop drawings for projects, preparing assembly/manufacturing drawings, assisting with CAD data management, with other duties to be performed as assigned.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare dimensional drawings, shop drawings and more complex drawings for custom projects or new product development drawings.
• Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with reviewing party redline comments (if applicable).
• Develop, revise and update drawings for fabrication and assembly floor to ensure consistent documentation of the project.
• Develop and maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, materials & parts list, list of design parameters, and kit of parts for standard product fabrication) for future reference.
• Will be responsible for creating detailed product drawings and helping to develop efficient and cost effective concepts for fabrication of existing and new products, working closely with staff to collaborate on best practices for delivery of effective drawings and CNC files as needed.
• Assist in file management of CAD parts drawings.
III. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
• At minimum, an Associates degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at two years of related work experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Experience using AutoCAD design software (required).
• Experience in working with CAD files CNC Plasma machines (not required but helpful).
• Experience using 3D modeling and rendering software (not required but helpful).
IV. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
• Proficient in AutoCAD software.
• Will need to learn how AutoCAD interfaces with new CNC Plasma machine with a willingness to participate in company training.
• Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
• Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office.
• Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.
• Familiar with design parameters related to architecture and/or construction.
• Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures.
• Able to work with minimal supervision, efficiently schedule and manage time.
V. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• The CAD Technician must be able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail.
• The CAD Technician’s work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
VI. WORK ENVIRONMENT
