Form and Fiber, Inc. manufactures our boardform planters with two different types of joints.
One of our most popular joints casted are finger joints, where boards are spaced to allow seepage of the concrete pour into the joint, creating a dramatic joint that is rough and irregular in it's finish. The result is modern, industrial type of planter.
Our medium joint is the perfect combination, allowing some seepage, while maintaining a more consistent joint pattern that is not as rough as the finger joint.
Form and Fiber, Inc. also casts our boardform series planters with the option of using tight joints. These joints are achieved through the tight butted boards that allow for minimal seepage of the concrete pour into the joint, creating a more refined, consistent finish.

PRECAST SURFACE FINISH
Precast concrete is a natural, unpredictable process that does not always produce consistent surface results. By nature, precast applications inherently have air bubbles that will produce a "pitted" or "worm hole" appearance in the surface. Although our casting methods work to reduce this affect, it is never really eliminated, nor controlled, thus producing individual pieces, each uniquely expressive in their surface qualities.
Form and Fiber offers a natural finish in our boardform planters. Once demolded, planters are properly cured before adding interior sealants. We do not offer a sand-blasted finish at this time.
VARIATION IN SURFACE FINISH
Pitting size will vary as these examples do.
